    Wildlife Management

Our local guides of the wildlife management area go through careful biological assessments. Not only do we provide local residents with benefits through hunting, we also enable them to use their wildlife or other natural resources to replenish the wildlife population. We have spent over 50.000 USD to conserve wildlife for the last three years.

Hunting is our passion

Outfitting and guiding is our passion, not just a job. Our goal is to provide quality hunts with our hunters coming as clients and leaving as friends.

NATURAL INN OUTFITTERS PROVIDE GUIDED FREE CHASE BIG GAME HUNTS IN MONGOLIA

With an area of 1.567 million sq.km, Mongolia lies in a transitional zone at 42° to 52° N, between the taiga forest of Siberia and the Gobi desert, spanning the southernmost border of the permafrost and the northernmost deserts of Central Asia. Altitude ranges from 560m in the far East to 4374m in the Altai mountains. The country is far from the sea and has an extreme continental climate with marked seasonal and diurnal temperatures and low precipitation.

Mongolia's wide range of relatively intact ecosystems provides habitat for various plant and animal species, some of which are globally endangered. Mongolia belongs to one of the few countries still considered relatively untouched regarding air, water, plant and animal species in the world.

We have hundreds of acres of wildlife management area and hunting ground following community-based natural resource management principles in high Altai mountains, wide-open steppes of Mongolia and Gobi desert regions.

With our motto "Break the rules, follow your step..pes" our experienced guides will insure that you have every chance to succeed and guarantee you won't go home disappointed.

Your Experience

Arrival & Departure

Clients have to book their flights to Ulaanbaatar through their travel agents. We can also help you with travel arrangements and flight booking.

An English-speaking company representative will meet you at the airport and assist you with customs clearance and firearms import permits upon arrival & departure.

Accommodations

The hunting area base camps vary from traditional Mongolian felt-covered dwellings to log permanent house buildings. Ger or yurts is comfortably furnished traditionally, with solar panel lightning, wood or dung burning stoves and trophy care facilities.  Fresh prepared home-cooked meals, extensive morning breakfast and soft drinks are included with your stay.

Travel

It takes about 2.5 hours to reach any of the two provincial centres of West Altai region from Ulaanbaatar by air. Then approximately 4-6 hours drive by 4WD is required to arrive in hunting camps.

Hunting destinations' high elevation and rugged terrain require patience and physical strength. Most hunting areas in the Altai mountains are characterized by steep slopes, rocky cliffs and high summits. The average elevation of the hunt will be 2600 meters above sea level in the Altai mountains and 1800 meters in the Gobi desert.

Land transfers between camps and hunting areas will be carried out by 4WD jeep. Hunting areas are then entered by foot or horses.

The Hunt

Usually, when the hunter arrives at the main camp, we first start scouting together. We explain and show the hunter the actual game and the whole hunting area to ensure we get the right species from this hunt.

Sometimes, the game dislocates far from its usual habitat or moves to other mountains due to many circumstances (mainly human interruption). We may lose the game after several missed shots or cannot find a trophy animal. In this case, we will move from place to place, tenting until we find an animal we are happy with.

What Clients Are Saying About Us

My son and I were able to do most of our hunting together on our first international hunt. We saw numerous ibex in both the Altai and Gobi regions every day. We concluded our Altai hunt in three days and our Gobi hunt in two. We had many chances to shoot, but with guide Ari’s help we took our time to select better trophies. Our Gobi ibex were especially large for the subspecies, both measuring about 40 inches. Ari is an outstanding guide and runs a great camp with professional drivers, cooks and experienced local guides. Our cook took care to serve well-prepared, balanced meals with vegetables, meat, and often fruit. The gers were warm and comfortable. Drives between camps were long, but Ari had comfortable modern SUVs (Lexus and Toyota) that made rough roads manageable. I can’t say enough good things about the people involved in helping make our first international hunt such a great experience. Ari made an excellent outfitter, guide, and interpreter and runs a smooth operation

After clearing Customs, I met Ariunbold Anand, my Mongolian guide and interpreter, who would turn the next 13 days into some of the most enjoyable days I've ever spent bowhunting.

My friend John Ollenburg and I had booked a combo hunt for both Gobi and Altai ibex through Chris Nash of Asian Mountain Outfitter. The Mongolian outfitter was Ariunbold Anand (Ari) of Amazing Steppes, who worked extremely hard to make the hunt such a great experience and success. We both succeeded in taking great ibexes as well as Siberian roe deer and wolves at the end of the hunt. We went to the Gobi on the 23 August, where I managed to take a nice ibex on the 2nd morning of the 5-day hunt. Being my first ever ibex I was pretty happy with it and enjoyed helping the team the remaining days looking for an ibex for John, who got a great trophy on the last day. I will leave it to John to file his own report. One of the highlights were seeing 3 mature Gobi Argali’s very close. The next leg of the trip was flying back to UB and then onto Khovd, which was followed by a 6-hour drive south to the hunting camp. This was quite a different hunt to the Gobi, with bigger mountains and also larger groups of ibex spotted daily. We worked very hard to get a good male and after having turned down some opportunities on good trophies, I managed to bag one on the 6th morning of the 5 day hunt. It turned out to be a great looking trophy with a large spread, around 10 years old and just under 44” horn length. I can’t thank Ari enough for his hard work and great company during this entire trip.
